Read receipt

I would like to see if/when an item has been read. In a private chat this would be the day/time that the message was read; in a forum perhaps implemented as a "seen by #" count that could be expanded by clicking to list those that have viewed the message/post/reply

I would also like to see a feature like this implemented - even something similar to how Facebook Messenger & Google Hangout shows you who has read (or how far they have read).

I am going to also have to agree, something like this would be great. I dont care about the time/date as much as knowing if it was seen (similar to FB Messenger).

We originally were not thrilled with the idea of read receipts, just on principle as a privacy thing. But you're right that this has become more common in other social software. Perhaps with a user option to turn the read receipt off.

So we will go ahead and take a closer look at this. One thing we would need to do in order to make this feature useful would be to come up with some rules around what constitutes "read". For example, if I scroll really quickly through a chat room, have I read all of the messages? And for Posts, does it count as "read" if I was looking through my POSTS tab in collapsed mode?

I'm sure we can come up with a reasonable set of rules for this. Then we'll need to determine scope and prioritize it.

This is already a request (for almost a year now)

I have been trying different chat platforms and testing ryver - we love a lot of things about it - Read receipt on chat only would be good - As a manager or owner of a company - i would like to have acknowledgement when a team member reads a message

It's been 3 years and no movement. Is that the norm with Ryver? Going to look around and see if this product is still under active development and what kind of response to logical feature requests exist. This feature is something that exists in many other platforms and would be useful in Ryver.

Been 6 years now. Pretty disapointing. As a user. And as company using Ryver.
